The EC-5 provides accurate research at an affordable price, making large sensor networks economical to operate. You can adequately profile your site sensors at multiple depths and locations, if you’re on a tight budget.
design for accuracy
The EC-5 determines volumetric water content (VWC) by measuring the dielectric constant of the media using capacitance/frequency domain technology. The 70 MHz frequency reduces salinity and textural effects, making it an accurate sensor for almost any soil or soilless plant media. Calibration included for mineral potting soil, rockwool, and perlite.
easy to install
At only 5 cm long, ~0.2 L measuring volume, this handy little sensor is easy to install in the field and can be used as nursery pots. The EC-5 compact design allows you to push directly into undisturbed soil to ensure accuracy. Must be good.
